About This Farm
Sweets Berry Farm at Rutledge has the deepest tree-fruit list of any picking farm near Atlanta. Fifteen acres carrying fifteen hundred fruit trees and seven thousand berry plants, and a season that holds for close to three months.
What You Can Pick
- Peaches and nectarines
- Pears and Asian pears - rare in this region, and the reason to come late
- European and Asian plums
- Blueberries - six thousand plants
- Thornless blackberries - a thousand plants
The season opens around May 20 and holds until the middle of August, which is longer than most farms in Georgia manage.
Good to Know
Open Thursday to Saturday 9am to 4:30pm and Sunday 9am to 2pm. The farm publishes no price and no entry fee anywhere its own site would show it: ring 678-662-6119.
Pro tip: the Asian pears are the thing to plan a trip around. Almost nowhere else within reach of Atlanta lets the public pick them.
