Windy Brow Farms at Fredon has the clearest pricing statement of any farm on this site, and it is worth quoting whole: "No admission fee, no parking fee, no price per pound fee…that's it, just the bag cost."

What You Can Pick

Apples, usually from the first weekend in September through late October. This year the farm expects "a ver abbreviated pyo season" after spring freeze damage, and its peaches were largely lost to the frost.

Good to Know

The farm store opens 9am to 6pm seven days a week, with the scoop and coffee window to 8pm Thursday to Sunday.

Dogs are welcome on the property and in the fields, which almost no orchard allows.

And on what it does not do, in its own words: no "bounce houses, or cow trains, or corn pits, or pumpkin cannons".

Pro tip: this is the anti-agritainment orchard of the New York region and the one to choose if a Saturday queue for a cow train is your idea of hell. It is also the only one that will let you bring the dog into the rows.
