About This Farm
Battleview Orchards at Freehold has lost more to the April 2026 freeze than any other farm in this region, and it says so in its own May update: "The extreme temperatures in April has resulted in total crop loss of our Sour Cherries, Peaches, Nectarines and Apples."
What You Can Pick
Strawberries, from mid May. That is what survived.
Sour cherries, peaches, nectarines and apples are all off for 2026.
What It Costs
$5 per person to enter the strawberry patch, and in the orchard's own words that fee "will include a $5.00 credit per person, towards the strawberries you pick", with no refunds. It is a deposit against fruit rather than a gate charge.
Senior citizens get 10% off on Mondays and Thursdays, in the Country Store or the orchard.
Good to Know
The orchard's own rules, in its own order:
- "Always Call to confirm dates, hours and supply before traveling a distance."
- "We only accept cash at the picking locations."
- Senior discounts Mondays and Thursdays
- "Leave your pets at home."
- Orchard entrances close 20 minutes before closing time
Pro tip: a $5 fee that becomes $5 of strawberries is the fairest admission model anyone in this region uses, and it is worth asking other farms why they do not do the same.
