Sweet T Farms

Sweet T Farms is a family-owned farm on Sandy Creek Road at Commerce, in Jackson County, about an hour and a quarter north east of Atlanta. It runs on messages rather than a schedule: every picking day is announced on Facebook, usually the day before, and the hours change with it.

What You Can Pick

Four crops across the year, which is a wide list for a farm this size:

• Blueberries - the main crop, running through June and July
• Blackberries - Osage thornless
• Peaches
• Apples

What It Costs

Everything is sold by the bucket, and the buckets are provided:

• Pick your own - $15 a bucket, dropping to $10 on sale days
• Pre-picked - $20 a bucket, always picked fresh that morning

You pick into the farm's bucket and the berries are bagged for the drive home, so there is nothing to bring. Venmo, Zelle or cash - no cards.

Good to Know

Hours move day by day and are short, typically a four-hour window somewhere between 8am and 2pm. There is no weekly pattern to rely on, so check Facebook or text 770-533-3423 before setting out.

Pre-picked orders need at least an hour's notice by message or text, and close before the picking does. On hot days the farm puts out free bottled water.

Pro tip: the farm runs genuine sales, cutting the u-pick bucket from $15 to $10 and occasionally giving away a two-bucket limit per family on the last day of the season. Following the page is worth real money here.
