About This Farm
Mercier Orchards at Blue Ridge is the biggest picking operation in north Georgia, and it grows over forty apple varieties.
What You Can Pick
- Strawberries - spring
- Blueberries and blackberries - early summer
- Apples - typically August through October, and the main event
Good to Know
Picking here needs admission, and it can only be bought on site, never in advance. It is first come, first served, and it stops the moment the fruit in the fields runs out. The orchard's own site could not be read in three passes and it publishes no price here: ring (706) 632-3411.
Weekday hours are shorter than weekend ones: Monday to Thursday 10am to 4pm, Friday to Sunday 9am to 5pm. There is a market and a cafe on site.
Pro tip: the orchard's own advice is to arrive early at weekends, for the fruit as much as the crowds. Turning up at two on a Saturday in October can mean paying to pick over a picked orchard.
