Ecosystem Farm

Ecosystem Farm is the only u-pick inside the Atlanta city limits, on Springside Drive in the south east, and it says so itself. Organic, regeneratively managed, grown on living soils with no harmful sprays. Its own summary is hard to better: living soil, amazing taste, and peace inside the Perimeter.

What You Can Pick

Strawberries and cut flowers, from about mid-April to mid-June, weather depending.

What It Costs

Charged per vehicle, not per person, and there is a good reason: the farm has parking for five cars at a time, so the car is the unit that matters.

• Appointment - $15 to $25 depending on the day, including either your first small basket of strawberries (about 1.5 lb) or your first ten flower stems
• Extra berries - $20 a small basket, $30 a large one at about 2.5 lb
• Extra flowers - $1 a stem
• Vases - sometimes available, prices vary

Booking

Appointments are required and are released on Mondays at noon for the week ahead. You cannot book more than seven days out. The number released changes with the weather and with what is actually ripe, so if there is nothing showing, the farm's advice is simply to check back for next week.

Good to Know

The weather policy is unusually generous and clearly stated. If it rains you are still welcome, though the farm is honest that the berries will not taste as good. If it storms, they follow pool rules. Either way they will reschedule or refund.

Bring your hat, and maybe some bug spray.
