About This Farm
Deer Run Farm on Highway 24 at Midland picks ten acres of strawberries between Locust and Midland, and it does one thing that almost no other farm in this region has bothered to do: four of its rows are laid out to be wheelchair accessible.
What You Can Pick
Strawberries, from around the second week of April for about eight weeks. In 2026 the farm announced its own opening: "Strawberry Season at Deer Run Farm begins Friday, April 10th! Join us from 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM for u-pick strawberries."
What Else is Available
A country store with the farm's own produce, open through the summer after the strawberries finish.
Good to Know
The store opens 10am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 1pm to 6pm Sunday. In strawberry season the field opened at 8am, two hours before the store. The farm publishes no price and its website could not be reached: ring (704) 888-6304.
Pro tip: four accessible rows is not a gesture, it is a design decision, and it is the only one of its kind found in this region. If someone in your party does not walk far, this is the field to drive to.
