About This Farm
Wells Orchards opens its sweet cherries on June 20, which makes it one of the first farms picking anywhere in the region. This season is a difficult one and the farm is straightforward about it.
What You Can Pick
Sweet cherries, from June 20, 8am to 5pm.
The crop is much smaller this year and the farm is running only a limited number of u-pick days as a result. That makes ringing ahead essential rather than advisable.
What Else is Available
A farm store on site, and the orchard also sells at the Fulton Street Farmers Market on Saturday mornings and at Grandville on Tuesdays.
Pro tip: if the u-pick days are gone, the two farmers markets are the fallback, and Fulton Street on a Saturday morning is a Grand Rapids institution in its own right.
