Adams Blueberry Farm

Adams Blueberry Farm at Hartford is the furthest south of the West Michigan farms in this region, about ninety kilometres from Grand Rapids, and one of the few anywhere near here growing USDA certified organic blueberries.

What You Can Pick

• Organic blueberries - USDA certified
• Conventional blueberries, in separate blocks
• Aronia berries, which almost nowhere else in this region grows

The season opens July 1 and runs to about the first weekend of August, seven days a week, 8am to 6pm. Conventional berries are and the certified organic ones. The farm has been working for more than seventy-five years.

Good to Know

There is a children's playground on site, which matters more than it sounds on a blueberry farm: the picking is slow and small children run out of patience long before the adults run out of bushes.

Pro tip: aronia is worth trying while you are there. It is sharp raw and turns superb in jam, and you will not find it at a supermarket.
