Westward Orchards at Harvard says the one thing about pricing that most of its neighbours do not: "Picking is charged by the pound picked." No prepaid containers, no bags to buy first.

Pro tip: by-the-pound is now the minority model in this region. Applecrest has dropped it entirely for 2026 and several others sell fixed containers, so an orchard that still weighs what you picked is worth choosing if you only want a few.
