Shelburne Farm at Stow opens for the season on Saturday 22 August and then trades every day, seven days a week. It is also the only farm in this region that takes no cash at all.
Apples, peaches and pumpkins.
Hay rides, farm animals, John Deere tractor and Gator playgrounds, a bounce house, a cider barn with hard cider, food trucks, live music and an apple shop.
Payment is unambiguous, in the farm's own capitals: "We accept ALL MAJOR credit cards, debit cards and ApplePay EVERYWHERE on the farm! No cash or checks please".
Pro tip: leave the cash at home and check the phone is charged. A card-only farm with a bounce house and a hard cider barn is a farm that has thought about queues, and 22 August is early enough to beat the Stow apple traffic entirely.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
Our own assessment, scored the same way for every farm on the site, from what each farm publishes about itself. Not a visit, and not a public review score.
