Topaz Farm on Sauvie Island picks Chester blackberries, a thornless late variety, alongside cherry tomatoes and cut flowers, twenty minutes from downtown Portland.
Open Wednesday and Thursday 10am to 6pm, Friday and Saturday 9am to 7pm, Sunday 9am to 6pm. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
The Cow Train is $5. The farm publishes no picking price.
Pro tip: Chester is the last blackberry of the year and thornless, which makes it the one to bring children to. Most blackberry picking involves blood.
