Sauvie Island Blueberry Farm picks five named varieties twenty minutes from downtown Portland, at $4.50 a pound, and keeps a different opening time almost every day of the week.
Blueberries at $4.50 a pound: Early Blues, Vanettas, Blue Ray, Blue Crop and Olympias.
Picking runs late June through mid-August, and the farm is closed for the 2026 season.
The hours are worth reading rather than assuming: Monday from 8am, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30, Thursday until 8pm, then 8am to 6pm Friday to Sunday.
Pro tip: the Thursday evening is the one nobody uses, and the Early Blues come in a fortnight before the Olympias. Ask which block is on rather than picking the row by the gate.
Our own assessment, scored the same way for every farm on the site, from what each farm publishes about itself. Not a visit, and not a public review score.
From the farm, and no two days are quite the same. Thursday runs latest, to 8pm.
