This season
Closed for the whole of the 2026 season. In the orchard's own words, after an unfavourable spring: "we just don't have enough quality apples for that to occur." It is principally a u-pick orchard, so a bad crop closes the gate entirely.

Lang's Orchard at Woodstock is closed for the whole of 2026, and the reason is worth reading in the orchard's own words: the spring weather went against it and "we just don't have enough quality apples for that to occur."
Apples, in a normal year. The orchard describes itself as "principally a U-Pick orchard", which is exactly why a poor crop shuts it rather than shifting it to selling pre-picked fruit.
There is nothing to plan this year. Check its Facebook page for the 2027 season, or email langs@langsorchard.com.
Pro tip: two orchards within twenty minutes of each other lost their 2026 crop to the same spring frost, this one and Prairie Sky at Union. If you are planning a McHenry County apple trip, ring before you go: the frost did not hit everyone equally.
